Tuning tips
- Tune up to the note: if you overshoot, drop below it and come back up.
- Pick near the soundhole with medium strength — hard picking reads sharp at first.
- Start from the low E (6th string) and work toward the high E.

Mic not working?
The tuner needs your microphone. When you tap Start tuner, your browser asks for permission — choose Allow. If nothing happens or it was blocked earlier:
Chrome
- Click the icon just left of the address bar (a lock or sliders).
- Turn Microphone on, or open Site settings and set Microphone to Allow.
- Reload the page and tap Start tuner again.
Safari on Mac
- In the menu bar, choose Safari → Settings → Websites → Microphone.
- Find xpex.ai in the list and set it to Allow.
- Reload the page and tap Start tuner again.
Browser allowed but still blocked? (Mac)
macOS itself is probably blocking the browser — this is the most common cause on a Mac, and the fix needs a full browser restart:
- Open Apple menu → System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
- Turn the switch next to your browser (e.g. Google Chrome) on.
- Quit the browser completely (⌘Q) and reopen it — just reloading the page is not enough; the browser only checks this permission when it starts.
